Wakimono Tsuba

Dear George,

This tsuba looks to be 'street carving' which is a variety of wakimono. These are fittings for swords or whatever that are not associated with any particular school. Some people collect them. They are usually made of soft metal and have very crude nanako. They were originally sold for very little.
